They're Off!

I had my doubts last night when none of them would go to sleep. It was like 10:30, before I think they were all asleep. Joseph got up on his own (with his alarm clock) Sarah woke up before 7. Rachel I had to wake at 7:30. We had a relaxing morning getting ready for school, which really translates no fighting. I drove the girls to school, but couldn't get a parking spot anywhere :( I had to just drop them off :( I went home for 15 minutes and then went back to school to greet the kindergarten parents from the PTO, no problem with parking then.

I always know the first day is going to be terrible for parking. We got to school 20 minutes early and just parked across the street and walked over. No way I was trying for a spot!
My kids actually went to sleep well last night and SB who is always the hardest to wake up was up and dressed before 6:30! I think she was excited about school and also excited about chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast!lol!

I did rememeber how bad the parking is on the first day. We left the house at 8 this morning, school doesn't start until 8:30, there were cars packed in the parking lot and up and down the streets across from the school. I just really had a hard time parking father away then if we would have walked from home! We just never could make it to a spot closer even driving around campus 3 times, I just let the girls out. I didn't want them late on the first day. There were lots of other kids late, though. The office was crowded still at 8:50.

Yep,it's amazing how many kids are late on the first day. i left campus at 8:30 (school starts at 8:05 and the tardy bell rings at 8:15) and there were plenty of kids still just getting there. Maybe they thought the parking situation would be better by then! I guarantee that tomorrow I could get there at 8:03 and get a spot!
